Tuesdays are governed by Mars, and today, Mars – our ego and sense of self – is squaring off exactly with Neptune – our sense of oneness with all things. This is not an easy energy. We might feel super sensitive, defensive, demoralized. Other planets and aspects add to some extra heavy energy, all in Mercury’s retroshade: the build-up before Friday’s launch of our first Mercury retrograde of 2022.
Now, you know I’m not the doom-and-gloom kind of sacred arts practitioner. I like to check in on the astro-forecast so I know how best to prepare. We get conscious about the potential human shenanigans that we find ourselves in again and again, and use the wisdom we glean by observing how our lives unfold in spirals, in cycles.
So today is a good day to bring a tender touch to your mood and spirits. Observe how your energy ebbs and flows throughout the day, and hone in on what makes your eyes light up and what makes them glaze over.
Also, experiment with the fact that our strongest feelings are not always our best feelings. We don’t always need to take action when we have a powerful emotion. Witness and observe yourself, like a fascinated anthropologist.
On the shadow side, you might want to check yourself before you gossip or spread information (which will likely be mis-information). You might want to take a deep, refreshing breath before you start to over-personalize a potentially-insensitive comment someone makes. You might want to send out tendrils to your Inner Wise One and fortify that connection.
On the light side, this is a great time to step back and get perspective. We’re all still in an exhausting global pandemic. There’s more social distancing right now, thanks to stupid Omicron, and the potential for escalating loneliness is high. Remember that you/we are all interconnected. You/we all deserve a little extra gentleness this week (and throughout the whole Mercury retrograde, quite honestly, and probably forever and always). You/we have our own unique ways of dealing and coping, and we can also check in on each other from time to time.
If you’re still feeling the heavy energy of this week, hunker down and get organized. Get serious about something that really matters to you.
Get curious.
Be vulnerable.
Keep your sweet, resilient heart nourished by moments that bring you delight.
